Lots of things to say about this page At first, I thought Norm not being able to read the Book AFTER eating the acorn would write me into a corner, but I've written some options I can do later in the story to explain it.

I had to do TWO new backgrounds for this page! Usually, I have to do one or none, but thank God this evening wasn't so busy! The first one was a new landscape of the trees, so you can hear Jerome's new aquaintance slapping him in the face, just to make his character consistant. Plus, I don't know how clear it is, but Jerome is supposed to be parodying a moviegoer watching a movie eating popcorn (a bug), since the moment of Norm reading the Book is a very important part of the story. At first, there were LOTS of other birds watching intently behind everyone here, just to show you how big an event it is, and since they fly, you can imagine how fast news travels among them.

The second one came at the end, of course. They're geese for no reason, I just thought now would be a good time to introduce a new species making a cameo in Norm and Cory. So, I just set Norm against a swamp background because that's where you find geese. The background BEHIND the swamp is a photograph blurred- I ran out of patience to create a bigger swamp. But again, these new characters are here not only to tell you just how single-minded Norm is right now, but to tell you how much of a deal it is throughout the forest that no chipmunk has ever eaten an acorn EVER before this.

Yes, I think this way about all the pages ALL the time. I'm obsessed.
